Meet and Brick 38
#BTCDoorways

In this water elemental build, we wanted to practice making water surfaces. We had some koi tiles from the Dragon Stone Shrine that we placed around the foot of our waterfall. Using transparent clips, we were also able to add some fish leaping over the pool’s surface. We used a mix of clear, blue, and dark blue transparent tiles for contrast and several curved slopes and cockpits for flowing effects. For additional texture we scattered transparent-blue snowflake pieces across the water surface. We nearly ran out of blue pieces!

Realizing that the stingray had studs on its back, we jumped at the chance of having a minifigure ride it. We chose Nya to be the heroine of this scene because she is the Water Ninja. Underneath the waterfall is a blue energy core that powers a hidden portal carved into the stone base. On top of this waterfall is a transparent blue rock filled with blue crystals. This rock is attached to a hinge that Matti added as a play feature that will scatter the crystals below when tilted.

On the opposite side of the waterfall is a crystal rock face with an embedded dragon crest that hides an underground chamber and a secret door that leads to the blue energy core. Can you see the tiny door under the waterfall?

The entrance to this chamber lies beneath the cliff wall and close to a tall olive green tree with magenta leaves. We liked how the contrasting leaf color and flowing organic curves of the tree trunk calls attention to this part of the build. At the end of this small jungle are cliffside stairs that Matti built from wedge plates with cut corners that connect this area to Bruni’s forest. What a great technique!
This and the last few modules we built were quite lush and vibrant. They are very much different from the last world in this series: a desolate desert!
