#BTCDoorways

This world was built around a desert palette, and we worked toward creating a desolate, yet action-packed build. The portal to this desert is a barred door with a skeleton hanging nearby as a warning of the dangers ahead. The door is decorated with a towering roof with patterns from Wu’s elemental mech.

Following the stairs from this doorway, one is led to a dirt pit with a fierce alligator (and its little hedgehog friend). They keep watch over an abandoned observation deck with a jeweled sextant and an ominous cattle skull sculpture. Nearby is a small rocky outcrop with another odd pair of creatures. A young thestral stands by a tiny nest with a curious owlet.
The desert energy core is secured by a claw cage and protected by Sora, who has to avoid the many sand serpents erupting from the ground. Master Wu rides a skeletal steed and slowly approaches them from beyond the desert boundary.
One of the few resources in this desert is a water well that Matti designed. The different angular bricks he used give this well a unique shape, and peering into it shows the smooth water surface made of azure tiles. One of our favorite side builds here is a tethered sandworm that was inspired by those found in Arrakis. The head of the creature was fashioned from a pearl gold cockpit piece that had several attachment points for its multiple eyes and spines. The rest of the creature’s body is hidden beneath the sand and no one knows how large it actually is.
